Il numero di serie 0 0604 indica una serializzazione che è stata utilizzata dalla fine del 1953 all’inizio del 1961. In ogni caso la Les Paul Custom in configurazione 3 pickups humbuckers è stata introdotta a metá 1957. Invece le meccaniche Grover Rotomatic sono state introdotte sul modello a partire dal 1959.

Pensiamo quindi che la chitarra  sia stata prodotta tra il 1957 ed il 1961,

Le allego di seguito le specifiche a partire dall’introduzione del modello al 1961:

Les Paul Custom: 1 piece mahogany body with carved top, Alnico V neck pickup, black soapbar P-90 bridge pickup, tune-o-matic bridge, stop tailpiece, optional Bigsby, multiple bound top and back, single bound ebony fingerboard, pearl block inlay, low frets (nicknamed the Fretless Wonder), Les Paul Custom on truss rod cover, 5 piece split diamond peghead inlay, pearl logo, closed back Kluson tuners, plastic tulip shaped tuner buttons, gold plated hardware, ebony finish (nicknamed Black Beauty). Introduced 1953.

3 humbucking pickups (a few with 2 pickups) mid 1957  Grover rotomatic tuners 1959.

SG body, 3 humbucking pickups, side pull Deluxe vibrato, Les Paul custom on plastic plate between fingerboard and pickup, white pickguard, white finish: early 1961

Note: the custom change to SG body came later than the standards.  Many examples of single cutaway Black Beauty Les Paul Customs exist with 1961 serial numbers.
